An updated message from Fr. Preston
Dearest Friends,
Thank you all so very much for your kind words and congratulations on the news of my new assignment to the Mission Basilica San Buenaventura. However, I want to share with you that after some prayer and discernment I have asked to take a sabbatical for medical purposes and will not transition as pastor to the Mission. I will take this time to rest and recover especially after such a major surgery and the toll it has taken on me. I truly thank all of you, our parishioners, our priests, and our staff who helped the work of the parish continue during that time and who helped me during that immediate period of recovery and return to parish work. May God continue to bless you as you welcome your new Parish Administrator, Fr. Parker Sandoval. Father is looking forward to becoming your new shepherd and spiritual guide. He will be a wonderful Pastor and I am confident that you will offer the same love and support that you have always given to us priests here at St. Mary Magdalen. Me ke aloha pumehana ia ‘okou (with warmest affection to you all),
Fr. Preston
P. Preston
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 13:34
As pilgrims on a faith journey,
we seek to grow in these particular areas:
Evangelization:
To more fully answer our baptismal call to live and share the life
and the love and the message of Jesus Christ.
Spirituality:
To be nourished by the Word and the Eucharist in such a way that our hearts are engaged, our minds are receptive, and our energies are applied to the great adventure of being disciples of Jesus.
Service:
To more generously give of our time, our talents, and our treasure
to meet the needs of our parish and the broader community.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord,
and he will repay him for his deed.”
